Marking the Memories of Vaishnavi’s Dubai Honeymoon Trip with Thrillophilia

Marking the Memories of Vaishnavi’s Dubai Honeymoon Trip with Thrillophilia

I saw my husband sitting silently in the aircraft, shivering slightly and tapping his toes. We were flying quite high above the Arabian Sea, with the entire Palm Jumeirah swirling under our feet. And then the trainer said,

“It's time”

My heartbeat was racing, but after hearing this it ran as if competing with Usain Bolt. My husband still did not move. We are so different in reactions that sometimes I get confused as to what is going on. Then I saw it, he was almost crying out of fear!

I told him,

“We wanted to do this together, we will do it together, come now!”

I still have no idea where I got the courage to say these words when I, myself, was at the peak of doubt.

“We have to go now, ma'am, and sir.”

With shaky legs, I got up, held the hands of my husband, encouraged him a bit more, and then finally went to stand in front of the door.

It opened and a blast of wind slapped my face, almost knocking me out. But I stood still.

“Don't look down”, said the trainer.

Still, I looked down and it was one of the best sights I had ever seen!

All my nervousness vanished and I affirmed to the trainer that I was ready.

Suddenly, I felt a push at my back and within a second, I WAS FLYING!

I could feel the air pressure helping me float so high up in the sky, and the Palm Jumeirah seemed to be as big as my fist from up there. I was exhilarated, and happy, and I could literally see all my tiredness jumping off the aircraft, just that they were not wearing a parachute so I hope to never see them again.

Amen.

Oh and there he came, after a good long time, my husband, screaming and throwing his legs and hands in the air, until the other trainer caught him and brought him back to stability. Then slowly he arrived towards us, we held hands, and there was the bang-on the beginning of our trip!

Honey and Moon
It was his birthday on this date, 26th November. We got a jar of honey from the spice souks of Dubai. Although the souk explorations were quite insightful, we were not hoping to find a 500-year-old bottle of honey in the market.

My husband is a honey collector, so we bought some of that aged honey and headed straight for the desert safari. After a day full of dune bashing and ATV rides, we finally went for the most awaited part of our trip- the camel ride.

You may ask, why was this the most important one?

Because we had a deal. My husband was hell-bent on denying the fact that there were no oases tours included in the camel safari, and obviously, I was standing against the motion (just because I had read the itinerary sent by Thrillophilia thoroughly). And to HIS surprise, there was an oasis tour included in the safari!

The way back to our desert camping site was hilarious, with me taunting him and him reacting just the way I wanted. Yeah yeah, it was our honeymoon and I knew when to stop and how to bring back the good mood. So, after reaching the camp, I made it up to him by giving him a gold watch that I got for this special occasion, and he could not be happier!

It was a full moon night and we were just finishing our dinner after the Tanoura show when suddenly my eyes fell on the desert sand and I stood stunned. The evening frost was stacking up on the sand grains and under the moonlight, it gifted us with a breath-taking sight.

Frost over the desert.
Blue and white hues.
The Arabian mysteries seemed to wake up from their forgotten slumber.

And we,

We stood admiring the view, my heads on his shoulders, singing an ode to our very first birthday after marriage, in our hearts.

The rest of it unfolded in folds
For example, the Dubai Miracle Garden was a beautiful park, where we met so many Indian travellers on a trip that some of the charming X-factor of our tour seemed to get shared, and in reality, lose a bit of its exquisite essence.

But no worries, we were there to enjoy and not opt for a competition. So, we took the high road (relatively higher) and asked one of our fellow couples to click a picture of us. No doubt, it was a nice picture.

The same thing happened on the Dhow Cruise, we were the first ones to reach the Dhow boat and we started munching on some Arabian snacks. Then we saw that slowly the other tourists started pouring in, and 95% of them were Indians. It was the peak season of tourism for Dubai, and the feeling of an ‘international trip’ somewhere got lost.

But the trip in itself was a very enlightening one! We covered the Dubai Museum which took us on a tour of Dubai before the discovery of oil under the land. It told us about the fishing communities and the importance of Dhow boats. The city tour also took us on a trip to the famous Palm Jumeirah beach, where we enjoyed relaxing on the sunbeds while spending some quality time with each other.

What stole the spotlight was the Aquaventure Park in Atlantis along with Dolphin Bay. We not only made it alive out of the water park in one piece, but we sure did enjoy a nice swim with the friendly dolphins there, playing with them and having a marvellous time! It was a rare experience, and we both absolutely loved it!

None of it would have been possible
If not for the joint venture of Vaishnavi from sales and Sarweshwar from operations. They both made our trip very smooth and stood up to all expectations encompassed by Thrillophilia. We had heard a lot about them, and it was our first time travelling with their tour packages. And I will say in this review, that all their services are top-notch and the experiences offered by them are totally worth it. What I had planned for my husband, all of it was carried out beautifully.

Hope to travel with Thrillophilia in the future as well. For now,

THANKS, A LOT, FOR THIS SPLENDID TRIP!!!
