Burj Khalifa and Beyond: Priyansh’s Dubai Family Adventure with Thrillophilia

It all started one evening at our kitchen table in India. My wife was feeding our daughter while our son flipped through a book on world landmarks. He stopped at a glittering picture of the Burj Khalifa and said, “Papa, is this building real?” I smiled, leaned over, and said, “Not only is it real, but maybe we will see it one day.”

My wife raised an eyebrow. “Are you finally planning that Dubai trip we have been talking about for years?”

I looked around at my family, but did not say anything, but the seed of a vacation was already budding. At night, I opened my laptop and started browsing through Thrillophilia’s Dubai itineraries.

After continuous hours of research, I booked a 7-day trip package, and the next day, I broke the news over the breakfast table. I had never seen my family lit up like that in seconds…

In March 2025, we boarded our flight to Dubai. What followed was a week full of laughter, wonder, and memories that we would talk about for the rest of our lives.

Gliding into Glamour on a Lotus Yacht

We landed in Dubai and were welcomed with warm weather and an even warmer reception. Our hotel was comfortable, and after a quick nap and snack break, we were all set for the main event of the evening - the Lotus Mega Yacht Dinner.

Boarding the yacht felt like entering a movie set. Everything sparkled, including the water, the skyline, and the eyes of my children. My daughter clung to my wife’s hand, while my son was already trying to act like a little gentleman with his mocktail.

The buffet was endless, with everything from fresh seafood to Middle Eastern delights. We had our dinner under the stars as the boat sailed gently past the Marina skyline. My son pointed at the Ain Dubai and shouted, “It is bigger than a Ferris Wheel!”.

At night, as the kids dozed off back in our hotel room, my wife whispered, "Best start to a trip ever."

I nodded. It felt like Dubai had rolled out the red carpet just for us.

Tall Tales and City Lights

The next morning began with a half-day city tour. From the white sands of Jumeirah Beach to the grandeur of the Atlantis Hotel, every spot was picture-perfect. My son was fascinated by the Jumeirah Mosque’s elegant architecture, while my wife loved the fountain outside Dubai Mall that danced to music.

But the highlight of the day, hands down, was our visit to the Burj Khalifa.

We went up to the 124th and 125th floors, and as the elevator doors opened, the view literally made us all gasp. My daughter pressed her tiny face to the glass, whispering, "We are flying!", to which my son replied, “No, we are at the top of the world!”.

Later in the evening, we watched the fountain show from a boat. Music echoed as water jets danced. My son leaned on me and said, "This is better than any movie."

I smiled. "That is because we are living it."

Into the Future and Across the Dunes

The Museum of the Future looked like a sci-fi film. The kids were wide-eyed while walking through floating displays and interactive exhibits. My daughter loved the imaginative "space station" floor, and my son was obsessed with the robotic installations.

But the real adventure began in the afternoon - Desert Safari time.

Dune bashing had our hearts racing. My wife was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes. The kids screamed at every twist and turn of the 4x4. There was a scratch where I took my driving skills to a different level- drifting and throwing sand up in the air.

After that, the evening brought camel rides, sandboarding, and a BBQ dinner under the stars. The fire show was incredible, and the belly dancing even made my daughter and wife get up and try some of the moves.

Gardens of Wonder and Cultures of the World

I did not expect Miracle Garden to be such a hit with the kids, but it was.

The giant heart-shaped arches, floral castles, and butterflies made entirely of flowers - everything was magical. My daughter ran ahead, twirling through the flower tunnels, while my son tried to photograph everything with his toy camera.

In the evening, we headed to Global Village. It was like travelling across continents in just a few hours.

There, we tasted Turkish ice cream, watched African drum performances, and even bought some mini lanterns from the Egypt pavilion. The kids were fascinated by the different cultures, and for once, my son did not complain about walking.

Water Slides and A Bird’s Eye View

If there was one day the kids were most excited about, it was the Aquaventure Water Park at Atlantis.

My daughter spent most of her time in the splash zone while my son and I tried almost every slide we could. My wife preferred to relax by the wave pool, sip on coconut water, and laugh at our water-logged faces.

Then came a surprise I had secretly planned as a surprise for my family- a 12-minute helicopter ride.

Seeing Dubai from above was like looking at a perfectly lit and beautifully designed miniature model town. My son was speechless. My daughter pointed at the Burj Khalifa and said, "Look! Our flying building!". And my wife, I saw pride for me in her eyes, which made me feel like I had conquered the world!

It was a short ride, but one that made a lifetime memory.

A Day in Abu Dhabi

We took a private day trip to Abu Dhabi, and the drive itself was calming.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was unlike anything we had ever seen. It was pure white, peaceful, and massive. The chandeliers sparkled, and the kids whispered questions about everything they saw.

At SeaWorld, it felt like the ocean had come to us all by itself. We watched playful dolphins, saw glowing jellyfish, and even touched starfish in the discovery zone. My daughter was obsessed with the penguins, while my son could not get enough of the shark tunnel.

We ended the day tired but full of wonder. It was our final full day, and we made the most of every second.

The next morning, we packed our bags and left for home. This vacation indeed reminded us of the time, the laughter, and the people we love most.
