Neeraj’s Perfect Dubai Honeymoon: A Journey of Love and Discovery
Ever since we got engaged, my wife—then fiancée—kept talking about how much she wanted to visit Dubai. It had always been a dream destination for her, and she already had a rough list of all the things she wanted to see and do. So, when the time came to plan our honeymoon, the choice was obvious:
Dubai it was.
She was so excited that she practically planned the trip for us. By the time we were ready to book, we knew exactly what we wanted—a mix of adventure, relaxation, and the kind of luxury Dubai is famous for. I had already been on a few trekking trips through Thrillophilia, and their service had always been spot-on. They offered me the best travel package at a very reasonable price.
The entire trip booking process was smooth, and before we knew it, we were counting down the days.
It was our first big trip together as husband and wife, and there was a quiet excitement between us the entire journey.
A Night to Remember: Cruising Dubai's Marina
After landing in Dubai and getting through the usual airport formalities, we were greeted by a big, luxurious private car waiting to take us to our hotel. The city was even more breathtaking than we had imagined, with gleaming skyscrapers and the feeling that something exciting was always just around the corner.
We started our honeymoon trip with one of the most romantic experiences possible—a dhow cruise along Dubai’s Marina. There was something incredibly peaceful about gliding through the water, surrounded by the glittering skyline.
It’s right when they say- Dubai is Luxury.
We had a cosy little table for two on the deck, and as the boat gently moved through the marina, we had a romantic dinner under the stars. It was beyond imagination…
A perfect dinner date for the newlyweds.
We capped off the night with a leisurely stroll along the marina. This kind of a start was everything we wanted—romantic, laid-back, and refreshing after a whirlwind of wedding festivities.
The Buzz of the City
Dubai is full of surprises, and even though we had an itinerary, nothing prepared us for how amazing everything looked in person. The sights were stunning, and the energy of the city was infectious.
We started with a city tour, visiting places like the Jumeirah Mosque and the iconic Burj Al Arab. I remember stopping in front of the Palm Jumeirah, marvelling at how such a feat of engineering could even exist.
One of the highlights of the day was visiting the old souks. My wife has a soft spot for anything with a story, and as we wandered through the spice and gold souks, she was completely captivated. She chatted with shopkeepers, asked about the origins of the spices, and even ended up buying some of them including saffron—something we still laugh about because neither of us really knows how to cook!
By the time the sun began to set, we found ourselves at a café sipping on coffee, feeling like we had barely scratched the surface of what Dubai had to offer.
We still had so much to look forward to…
Desert Adventures
One of the most unforgettable days of our trip was our desert safari. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to drive over massive sand dunes at high speeds, let me tell you—it’s both thrilling and a little terrifying!
My wife had never done anything like it, and I could tell she was a bit nervous and excited. We laughed the entire time, especially when our driver expertly took sharp turns that had us gripping onto our seats for dear life.
But it wasn’t just about the adrenaline rush. The desert itself was stunning. As the day went on and the sun began to set, the golden sands seemed to stretch out forever. We took a moment to just sit in the sand, side by side, watching the sunset, and it was one of those quiet, peaceful moments that you hold onto.
The evening brought a whole new level of fun. We indulged in a BBQ dinner under the stars while watching traditional performances. I’ll never forget my wife’s face when the belly dancer twirled right in front of us.
The luxury that exuded in the midst of the vast desert…
It’s surely the city’s way of saying– Habibi! Welcome to Dubai!
On Top of the World, Literally!
If there’s one thing that screams Dubai, it’s the Burj Khalifa. Standing on the 124th floor, looking out over the city, was nothing short of breathtaking. The views were mesmerising, and we spent a good amount of time just soaking it all in. There’s something surreal about being that high up—it makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.
Later that day, we visited the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo as well, which was just as magical. Walking through tunnels surrounded by sea creatures made us feel like kids again, and we found ourselves giggling like schoolchildren at the sight of sharks and rays gliding past us.
Slowing Down in Dubai
After days of sightseeing and adventures, we decided to slow things down a bit. We spent a leisurely day exploring on our own, starting with a lazy breakfast and some time lounging by the hotel pool. It was nice to just relax and enjoy each other’s company without a set schedule.
We ended up wandering through one of Dubai’s many malls, marvelling at the sheer size and luxury of it all. While we didn’t do much shopping, we did find a small souvenir shop where we picked up a few keepsakes to remember the trip by. We also stumbled upon a charming café that became our little hideaway for the day, sipping coffee and talking about everything we had seen and done so far.
The Perfect Ending or a Perfect Start?
As our trip came to an end, we found ourselves reflecting on all the memories we had made. Dubai had exceeded our expectations in every way.
We left Dubai with our hearts full and a suitcase packed with souvenirs (and a few spices we still need to figure out how to use). It was the perfect start to our married life, and I know we’ll be reminiscing about this trip for years to come.
And who knows—maybe one day we’ll be back, ready to explore even more of this incredible city.
