This is How Kinjal Explored the Adventures of Dubai!
Dubai is such a destination, where a one-time visit does not suffice. It offers you so many things to do that it becomes almost impossible to cover all the wonders of the city in one go.
My first time in the city was a business trip. Although I could explore some of it, I always had this aspiration to try out the unique activities that this place offers. From Dhow cruises to skydiving, I really wanted to explore all that the city had to offer. So, last year me and my husband decided on fulfilling this extravagant wish!
Our kid, 11, was way too excited for this trip. Since he heard a lot of my stories from the business trip to Dubai, he was always looking forward to witnessing the Burj Khalifa- the tallest building in the world.
While booking our trip, we made sure that most of our bucket-list checkpoints were ticked off. Starting from my favourite Dhow cruise to my husband’s choice of going for a limousine ride and a desert safari, and my son’s wish to visit the AYA Museum, we included it all in our itinerary. We also customised our package itinerary in a way that we could include the underwater Zoo! It was actually quite fun customising the trip since we had to do our own research as well.
We got the itinerary and the stay details in hand along with the number of the drivers and representatives well before the start of the trip. So we were hoping that the journey would be smooth and exciting.
The dent before the rise
An unfortunate event took place on the first day of Dubai. While we were on our way to the desert safari camp, our car’s tyre got punctured. Although the tyre-changing service was fast enough, the incident itself delayed our itinerary and we got dropped off quite late at the camp.
And the outcome…
We missed the ATV bike ride.
Our son was sad and my husband got a bit upset as well. Coming to Dubai for a family does not take place often, and such a start to this much-awaited trip casts a gloomy aura on all of us.
We informed Thrilophilia’s operation in charge, the company with whom we were travelling. They assured us that such an occurrence would be avoided in the future. But we knew that such accidents might happen to anyone anywhere, so we chose to focus on the rest of the trip rather than brooding on the misfortune.
We went for the camel ride that took us around a beautiful oasis and back to the campsite. We had a night camp stay with a BBQ dinner that day, which somewhat uplifted our mood.
The next day our car was changed, and the driver assured us that there wouldn't be any issues this time. He was right on time for us to leave for our visit to the Museum of the Future.
A trip around the past and the future
We were all amazed to see the Museum of the Future. The innovative inventions and predictions showcased in the museum were truly inspiring to witness. We saw a futuristic version of Dubai and explored the possible discoveries that could transform the world. My son, especially, was in awe. She is a science lover and hence loved this experience.
Next up we were taken to the dock for the Dhow Cruise. It was an opportunity to understand the history of Dubai and its Maritime Heritage. The dhow boat offered a stunning sight against the striking blue beauty of Dubai Marina. We had an unforgettable lunch there, savouring authentic local dishes like Harees and Fatteh.
Lastly, the cherries on top of the cake…
Were our trips to the Aya Museum and the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo!
Our minds were blown when we entered the Aya Museum and found ourselves in a place that seemed to be out of this world. It was a stunning experience in itself.
Me and my son were unwilling to come out of the Zoo- the world's largest suspended marine museum. She had found a dolphin playing with her across the glass walls and I had come across a place where a school of hundreds of fishes swam to impress their audience. The walk through the tunnel was a memorable one, as if we were in a dream, walking on the sea bed.
Then came the day of riding the limousine! The one-hour ride through the heart of the town gave us a taste of what lavishness feels like.
And the last cherry was the Burj Khalifa. It was a sight; a marvellous sight!
We had toured the place twice, once in the evening and once in the afternoon, but no matter the time or the hour, this building never fails to knock the breath out of you. We also took a tour of the famous downtown area, gazing at the skyscrapers that seemed to be larger than life itself! A Dubai experience is always an extravagant one, transporting you to a world of its own, a world of splendours and luxury.
Vote of thanks
And now to the one for whom this review is dedicated to Thrillophilia.
Although it started with a bumpy ride, eventually they covered up for all the hassle on the first day by providing top-notch services. Our stays and the transfers were super comfortable and value for money. And as for the tyre puncture, it was pure bad luck. But nonetheless, Thrillophilia has been there to address all issues swiftly, with proper communication and management. That is what impressed me the most, their upright approach to problem-solving.
And the best part about the entire journey was being able to customise the package at our convenience. Without the support and the on-ground arrangements of Thrillophilia, this trip packaged with such lovely experiences with my family would never have been possible.
So, thank you for everything! I personally would consult with Thrillophilia for my future trips!
